OPEN LETTER TO VOTERS

Twenty-two years ago this March, I swore the following oath as an officer in the California State Military Reserve.

“...I do solemnly swear that: I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of California against all enemies foreign and domestic; That I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; ...That I make this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter so help me God”.

Since then I have tried to live by those words everyday. With your assistance I will take another oath, the Oath for Judge of The Los Angeles Superior Court.

I vow to you now that I will uphold our nation and State’s laws as I have done for the past twenty-five years; that  I will be a fair and integrity-driven Judge who I sincerely hope will be recognized as a vital addition to our State’s court system. I will listen to both sides of the story and lead courtroom activities in a professional manner unafraid of scrutiny of my actions by the media, my peers, and governmental agencies. I will provide individuals with an opportunity to resolve their problems through the legal system that so richly serves the State of California! This is my vow to you.
